Fellow citizens and neighbours,
For a total of over 11 years, I have had the honour of serving Richmond as our Member of Parliament – in eight of which I served Canada as a Cabinet Minister.
I am proud of my experience and my record of results for our community, and will continue to act with integrity to provide strong representation for Richmond.
Our economy is in turmoil, and we need an Ignatieff-led Liberal government with a real plan for renewed prosperity. I was proud to serve in the cabinets of Jean Chretien and Paul Martin which eliminated a $43 billion deficit and brought Canada to the forefront of global economic growth with seven consecutive budget surpluses. Together, with your support, we can put the economy back on track once again.
Now more than ever, your vote is truly important. This is a critical election: who do you want representing Richmond, and what direction do you want for Canada?
Can you trust another Harper government? All too often, it seems Mr. Harper does not even trust his own candidates, such as Alice Wong. He restricts their speaking, hides them from the media and the public, and compels them to dodge debates and the democratic process. We can’t afford a one-man government, nor any more years of Stephen Harper’s broken promises.
If you are concerned about the economy and fiscal responsibility, and if you value fairness, compassion and tolerance, vote Liberal. For strong representation for Richmond and for a voice you can trust, vote for Raymond Chan.
